Play rankedHow ratings work
Ratings use the Elo system. You gain points for a win and lose points for a loss; beating a stronger player gives more points. Your first 20 ranked games count double so new players find their level quickly. A draw moves both ratings toward each other. Only ranked games count, and they need a Google sign-in.
Xiangqi games end by checkmate, a player having no legal move, resignation or running out of time. A threefold repetition is a draw unless one side gave check on every move; that side loses. Games also end in a draw at 300 moves, when neither side has an attacking piece left, or by agreement.
